XB1 or PS4?
In the year 2016, in homes far far away, gamers are hurdled in front of large screen LED TVs with noise cancelling headsets, gaming controllers, sitting in comfortable chairs with favorite snacks by their side playing the latest GTA or Witcher or FIFA game. Two years after the consoles came into the market, the debate of what to buy – XB1 vs PS4 continues.
Over the years, gamers have had a chance of playing their favorite games on both consoles but until today, there is a large rift when it comes to the discussion of XB1 vs PS4.
Both consoles have received massive updates and changes therefore making them appealing to their fans.
The main question remains, what to buy XB1 vs PS4?
When it comes to dimensions, the Xbox One is larger than the Play Station 4. The Xbox One measures 7.9 by 27.4 by 33.3 cm when compared to Play station 4 measurements at 5.3 by 27.5 by 30.5 cm. The size may not matter to many people but when it comes to convenience, size does matter. The Xbox One although large in size, it is fitted with additional ventilation system therefore ensuring that the system gets to cool down efficiently during game playing.
In order to ensure organization in the home, owners usually prefer to purchase devices that have easy to organize power chords. The Xbox One does not conform to this as it has a huge power brick along its cabling therefore making the process of organization a little difficult. In order to connect it, you need to leave more space for better organization.
Play station 4 on the other hand has a single power cable which runs from the socket to the console. No power brick is needed therefore making its installation easy as well as providing ease of movement from one room to another easy.
When it comes to connectivity options, the Xbox One has an edge over the Playstation 4 console. The XB1 has three USB ports while the PS4 has two. The Xbox One has more ports which include a hidden USB port on the side, AC power port, HDMI out, optical out, kinect port, IR out and Ethernet port at the back. Sony’s Play Station 4 has the optical out, HDMI, Ethernet and AUX ports.
When it comes to aesthetics, the PS4 outguns the Xbox One. The PS4 has a slanted design with a light running down the center. It is slimmer, sleek and more attractive to look at. The Xbox One on the other hand has a half top glossy panel while the other half is covered by vents.
Game controllers provide users with the ability of controlling various characters. The Xbox One controller can be said to be a tweak of the Xbox 360 controller. Two main changes can be noted which include rumble motors that are built into the triggers therefore providing feedback to the user for example when shooting guns. Ensuring more feedback on other games like racing would make the experience better.
There is noted improvement on the D-pad therefore becoming more clicky and responsive. The Xbox One controller still needs a pair of AA batteries to work but it has a longer play time than the PS4 controller.
The Play Station 4 dualshock 4 controllers have a robust feel than previous models with the analogue sticks receiving huge updates. This has made game playing a better experience but the game pads require charging during playtime therefore providing short playtime.
Consoles cannot become complete without games to play. Over the last two years, Xbox One and Play Station 4 have seen top game launches therefore providing a wide game playing experience to the gamers.
The best games for Play Station 4 include GTA V, Life is strange, Witcher 3: wild hunt, Batman: Arkham Knight, BloodBorne, Everybody’s gone to the rapture, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and Mortal Kombat X among others.
The best games for Xbox One include GTA V, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Batman: Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Mortal Kombat X, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Assassin’s creed syndicate among others.
We hope this gives you more information when making the decision of what console to purchase.
